Branding: A Place to Start

Building a successful brand goes way beyond a cool logo and slick fonts. πŸ˜΅β€πŸ’«

When done right, it meaningfully connects the business with those it cares about, communicates consistency and trust, and sets the path for achieving goals with intention.

Brand work is wildly nuanced, highly strategic work.

Building a successful brand is no easy feat, but there are a few things to keep in mind on your journey.

1️⃣ Define Your Purpose: Understand why your business exists and the value it delivers. Starting with your purpose will align your culture and vision with the direction you want your brand to take. This is key to building momentum and excitement.

2️⃣ Know Your Audience Deeply: Conduct thorough research to understand their desires and what they currently know or perceive about your brand. The audience voice HAS to have a fair share of seats at your brand table to be as resonant and impactful as you desire.

3️⃣ Stay True to You: Stay the course once you align your brand values to the goals and purpose. In every interaction, your brand needs to be consistent and clear in order to be memorable and meaningful. Consider the overarching Brand Experience and all touchpoints someone may have with your brand (internal and external).

4️⃣ Craft a Compelling Story: Use storytelling to create an emotional connection. Think about how your favorite brands weave captivating narratives into their brand. The best brand storytelling is highly informed by research and strategically crafted for impact.

5️⃣ Deliver Consistent Experiences: Ensure every touchpoint reflects your brand's personality. I can’t preach the importance of this enough.

6️⃣ Innovate and Evolve: Adapt to changing landscapes. The most lasting and impactful brands are always evolving. Never stop researching, experimenting, and evolving.
